Morgan Schulte a Franklin ISVI student visited Alexander Grade School on March 14. Morgan read in braille to our students and provided them with many details of school and campus life at ISVI. Morgan learned to read Braille when she was three years of age, she loves music and watching game shows. Morgan was accompanied by Mr. James Strader one of her teachers from ISVI. Mr. Strader explained and demonstrated how Morgan would use her cane for mobility as well as the systems they have in place for eating and doing her own laundry. Our students and staff were greatly impressed by Morgans grace, poise, and presence handling a whole myriad of questions from our keenly interested students.
Mr. Strader printed out some students names in Braille. Morgan's visit was a great learning experience for our students and staff and Mr. Strader was also very entertaining. Morgan's visit made a lasting impression on our students and we hope to see her again and maybe some of her classmates as well. Our AGS students presented Morgan with a $20 gift certificate to McDonalds as she loves their french fries!
